Stonkin
Am changing the wheels on a 2014 Mercedes S Class. Does anyone know of a guide that I can use to know what size/profile tyres the new alloys should have to keep speedo ratings correct? Currently it has 245/50/18 fitted and will be changing to 20's Cheers
pedrosixfour
If you are sticking with the same tyre and rim width then a 40 profile tyre, i.e. 245/40/20, would give you an almost identical tyre circumference. There will be slight variations between tyre companies. If you are planning on changing the width, to suit a wider rim, for every 30mm increase in tyre width drop the profile by 5%, i.e. 245/40/20 would have a tyre circumference comparable to a 275/35/20. The same rule applies if opting for narrower tyres obviously.
Stonkin
Really helpful, thank you very much. Was thinking 245/40/20 and 275/35/
