Mike2JZ
Took my fuel tank out yesterday to check if innards needed a clean. Luckily it was clean as a whistle, but found this sitting in the yellow fuel reserve. Anyone have any idea what this may be or if it's meant to be there? Nodalmighty
Plastic ratchet clip. You put them around pipes and squeeze them up.
Burna
It's the collar from a 'Fuel worm', they drink fuel.

Around the fuel pump pipes that sit in the tank? - - - Updated - - - It's the collar from a 'Fuel worm', they drink fuel. Ah was wondering why my fuel needle kept going to empty so often. Nodalmighty
Although the more I look at it the less it looks like one unless it's broken. Possibly a fuel worm collar, most likely a radio tag from a octane wasp.

So who knows how it got there, but supra must of been running with it in the tank like that for ages so shouldn't be any different if I take it out the tank. Thanks for the comments guys
pedrosixfour
Can't say what it is for definite but, next time you're passing Mordor, feck it into the fires of Mount Doom, just to be sure.
Pete
It's the collar from a 'Fuel worm', they drink fuel. Where's the worm now? Does the collar have an owner identity or name on it? Wallace? William? Walter?
herbiemercman
Could it be one of these inserts you can fit in the filler neck to avoid miss fueling.
Guest Budz86
You got to be a rare breed of special to try and stick diesel in a Supra! Lol
herbiemercman
Yep i am a rare breed and i did it, but never again, it took ages to syphon out, and then had to short out the fuel pump to get the last dregs, filled up with petrol, but would stil not start, as a last resort i tried the old Indian trick and poured a cap of petrol into the air intake, it started on two pots, then back fired and set the top of the engine a blaze, it fortunately only lasted for a few seconds, but quite a scare. Eventually got it started cranking with foot flat on floor, it ran perfect after that and i put a full bottle of Whynns fuel enhancer in. Apparently this happens a lot on all cars and there are companies dedicated to recovering the situation, it only needs you to be not concentrating and you gone and done it. Herbie.
