Nic
What does it boost to in 5th and 6th with the AVCR turned off? If it's boosting above 1.2bar then it needs a smaller restrictor ring. The AVCR has a gear based self learning feature which should adjust the boost settings through each gear, it's a feature I've never played with though on mine so not sure what's involved but the setup is explained in the user manual. Good Question Nic , I would have to check! AVCR is all setup to Self learn , I have just turned down the Start Duty for 5th gear alot! Boost cut on my ECU is 1.3 bar, on the Dyno today he said she is trying to spike over Edited April 2, 2016 by Jellybean (see edit history)
Samurai 20V
I get similar on my TT6, I have a HKS EVC. I had to fine tune the overall gain, get 1bar on 1st, 1.2bar on 2nd, 3rd, 1.25bar on 4th, 5th, 6.. That was the best I could do. I have a 2inch restrictor ring.. Same here on the restrictor ring but I think this is mechanical ; getting a new ECU , built in boost control , was just wondering if you can do anything with the Jspec wastegates

Nic
Have a read of the 'gear judge setting' section in the AVCR manual, once set up the boost controller will know (based on speed and rpm signal) what gear you are in.
