Are IS posing a nuclear threat? More typical incompetance by the authorities.

Seems yet again the authorities have known at least one of the Belgian bombers was actively linked to radical Islam, and just let him carry on rather than inter him. Now it seems we have had an Islamic nuclear worker under surveillance, and another none Islamic nuclear worker found dead, shot 4 times in his home, under very odd circumstances. When will Europe awake and take the necessary Draconian steps that are patently needed???

I doubt it's nuclear threat in terms of kaboom - more probably waste and poisonous chemicals.

I'm sure I read recently something about them planning to do a silent but deadly attack whereby they poison a large populous by leaving this stuff somewhere?

It's why our water board have such high security around central points.

You spend far too much time worrying about such things.

Even though the authorities know about someone who follows radical Islam, due to the EU human rights act, we can't intervene unless there is actual evidence they are about to commit a crime.

And because of that, they can only allocate so much resources to this since there is so many people into radical Islam.

The problem lies with soft and pathetic laws.

We had no qualms about internment for Nazi sympathisers, am I right that if they declared a "proper" war against IS we could pass a special act and inter their sympathisers?

Fro the Telegraph article:

"Cheffou was arrested several times for attempting to persuade migrants who gather at the Maximilien park in Brussels to join radical groups. The Brussels mayor, Yvan Mayeur, had warned police several times that he was dangerous and asked for him to be detained.

However, prosecutors reportedly refused, and in September last year the mayor obtained on order barring Cheffou from the park.

He is best known to the Belgian public for a video in which he complained that Muslims at a migrants’ centre in Brussels were served meals before the end of the Ramadan fast.

The two others, named only as Aboubakar A. and Rabah N., were charged with “terrorist activities and membership of a terrorist group”. Rabah N. was wanted in connection with a related raid in France on Thursday that the government said foiled a “major terrorist attack”.

François Hollande, the French president, said the network behind the Paris attacks that killed 130 people in November and the Brussels bombings on Tuesday was being “wiped out” although the threat remained high and other terror rings were still at large.

Belgian prosecutors said they were holding another suspect, Abderamane Ameroud, for an extra 24 hours. He was shot in the leg by police in Brussels on Friday in the Schaerbeek district where the Brussels bombings were prepared.

However, his arrest was also linked to Thursday’s raid in Paris.

Ameroud was reportedly convicted in 2003 as an accomplice in the assassination of the Afghan political and military leader, Ahmed Shah Massoud, two years earlier.

One of those arrested on Friday, Tawfik A., was released “after extensive questioning”, the prosecutor’s office said.

Meanwhile in Italy an Algerian national wanted by Belgium was arrested on Saturday in connection with a probe into fake ID documents used by the attackers behind the Paris and Brussels terror assaults, local media reported, citing police sources.

The suspect, named as Djamal Eddine Ouali, 40, was detained under a European arrest warrant in the southern region of Salerno."

Water cannon being brought into a square in Belgium to quell right wing groups arriving at memorial gathering.

Quite why these people feel the need to gather when the Belgian police have asked them not to I don't know.

They cited they did not want to be further over stretched monitoring large gatherings.

I can't knock the Right being exasperated with all the pussy footing around mind you.
