Dim Sum
I was wondering if anyone comes across this and can help. I've fitted a Walbro 450 about 3 months ago, probably done maybe a 1000miles most of which was for remapping. Lately its been making a strange whinny noise after start up. The noise only appear on start up and if I turn the ignition on, all you can hear is the pump priming which is fine. This noise comes and goes, the fuel pressure is fine and the car boost fine and no issue. The only thing I change before the noises happened is the fuel filter, I replaced it with a new OEM Fuel filter, will that make any differences? adnanshah247
I had similar on my Bosch 044. After a while it just stopped. Sorry I can't be of much help but I checked and stripped the fuel system to find no faults. Maybe someone else could shed some light on it. That's fine, any input is better than none I took out the fuel hanger three times now and can't find any issue. Checked the vacuum, still had no luck. Bad/ faulty fuel filter shouldn't cause this noise would it?
adnanshah247
Nope I distinctly remember a rather loud constant wine from it as if the fuel tank was empty and its sucking in air.
adnanshah247
Irc I brimmed the fuel tank to the point it was leaking out and left the car running for an hour, was sorted then I think.

adnanshah247
I genuinely wouldn't worry, I lost sleep over this and it was fine in its own time. Check your fuel pressure regulator is getting the correct pressure. Worst case if the pumps faulty the car will just not run.
Dim Sum
Fuel pressure seems fine, got a constant reading. Will not enough volt or current to the fuel pump cause it to whine. I am just looking online and someone suggested that. Im currently using a 12volt mod so this shouldn't apply to me, right?
Gpro
check the fuel pumps grounding wire. My friend had the exact same issue with the fuel pump randomly sounding very loud and strange. It turned out to be a dodgy ground connection.

bignum
Mine makes strange noises abit like whistling almost like a turbo in the fuel tank which is cool, i`m think mines sucking the bottom of the tank though, worth checking.
