Walbro 450 fuel pump making strange noises

I was wondering if anyone comes across this and can help. I've fitted a Walbro 450 about 3 months ago, probably done maybe a 1000miles most of which was for remapping.

Lately its been making a strange whinny noise after start up. The noise only appear on start up and if I turn the ignition on, all you can hear is the pump priming which is fine. This noise comes and goes, the fuel pressure is fine and the car boost fine and no issue.

The only thing I change before the noises happened is the fuel filter, I replaced it with a new OEM Fuel filter, will that make any differences?

I had similar on my Bosch 044. After a while it just stopped. Sorry I can't be of much help but I checked and stripped the fuel system to find no faults. Maybe someone else could shed some light on it.

That's fine, any input is better than none :D

I took out the fuel hanger three times now and can't find any issue. Checked the vacuum, still had no luck.

Bad/ faulty fuel filter shouldn't cause this noise would it?

Fuel pressure seems fine, got a constant reading.

Will not enough volt or current to the fuel pump cause it to whine. I am just looking online and someone suggested that.

Im currently using a 12volt mod so this shouldn't apply to me, right?

check the fuel pumps grounding wire. My friend had the exact same issue with the fuel pump randomly sounding very loud and strange. It turned out to be a dodgy ground connection.

ahhhh actually he has a point, when in ICE (in car entertainment) the amp has a crap ground the sub makes a whine and interferance sounds.......

definatley worth checking.

Yeah I will do. But it stopped making the noises all a sudden again without me doing nothing :banghead:

When it comes back I will try and check again and update this thread.

Thanks for the help and suggestions so far.
