rear-wheel bearings,

renegade

Recommended Posts

Hi mate, I bought one from import car parts the other day and one from automotive bearings limited, see pic below, they are both identical in every way, same markings, numbers, writing etc....I literally cant tell them apart!

ICP is the cheapest place to get them from, £49 if I remember rightly!

I have attached a picture of both! I don't know but they must obviously buy from the same source, just arrived in different box's!

I have not fitted them yet, but they are described on a reputable traders website (who also sell them) as, and I quote "a huge saving over the Toyota item and top quality" so that's good enough for me to give them a try.

Hope this helps.

This is a very helpful thread! Mine were also picked up in the last MOT, are they easy enough to change on the rear? I haven't done rears before only fronts.

Only caveat is the ABS Sensor, if it is rusted in the hub , you need to be careful not to damage it as they are $$$

Mine are ok but I did not want to disturb it so I disconnected the ABS loom via the boot and pulled the cable through

Once you have the usual tooling it is the same as any other wheel bearing

  • 2 weeks later...

Thought I'd bump this instead of starting another one.

I'm doing all 4 bearings at the moment and contacted brt, those have jumped in price! £85 each now.

Has anyone had any experience with the febest bearings? Can get all 4 for £110 but I don't know much about them.

When I spoke to them they claim to be OEM quality and made in Germany but then after doing a bit of searching people seem to think they import Chinese stuff

I had a pattern wheel bearing which I replaced, it was better but still making a noise. I found out that the hub needed replacing too so I had to buy another wheel bearing and new hub. When we were pushing the wheel bearing in, half way through I bloody forgot to put the backing plate back in:banghead: .. So I pushed the bearing back out and placed the backing plate back on and still not right

I must of damaged it getting the bearing back out

I need ANOTHER bearing lol but not sure weather to get another hub lol

following my post earlier in this thread I had mine fitted last week, got them from import car parts for £49 each, qualitywise they appear to be very good! Also they were an incredible improvment on the stock ones I've just had removed :taped:!

Felling fine on the road, time will tell but anything to report and I'll post up here :)
