Glanza_Mike
Hey guys, So I've got a problem with my boostlogic exhaust system, in that the rear hangar just seems utterly ridiculous. I bought this second hand so I've got no idea if this is the way boostlogic intended for it to be mounted but basically the way it currently sits the exhaust works itself free of the hangar once every 6 weeks or so and just bounces around under the car. I've tried several temporary 'fixes' for this to try and get it to last longer, or completely resolve the problem. And it has worked as most recently (came off again Tonight ) it lasted 6 weeks like i said and before it would maybe come off after 2-3 weeks. But obviously this is no good still. So the problem is you get a hangar which you fix to the car, slide the rubber on and the hangar on the exhaust slides into the other hole in the rubber So there is nothing to stop the rubber just sliding off whenever it feels like it! Can you think of the best way to stop this from happening?!? I am lost ;( A reasonably poor attempt at photographing the hangar and rubber....... Any help appreciated as it's driving me crazy. j_jza80
Take it to your local fabricator and get them to weld a scall cap over the end of the hanger, one small enough for the rubber to be pushed over with force, but big enough to stop it working free
Glanza_Mike
Why have i not thought of this? ? i kept thinking what can i put on the end to stop it falling off.....
j_jza80
Most of them have a flare of some kind on them to stop this, but a cap would do. The backbox would have to come off, but if you've got a local powerflow dealer or similar with a ramp, it should only take them 15-20 mins
fastcar
Could try putting jubilee on the end! I had the on my old tannabe exhaust! I did this and it cured it
SPG
I'd get to the fabricator also:)
TheTurtleshead
Getting a little stop welded on the end would be best. If that's too much trouble. Drill a hole through the bar. Then slide a washer on and put a split pin through the hole, that would sort it.
Glanza_Mike
Ahh yeah that's also a good idea mate thanks. Might be a little troublesome to drill that area with my shitty drill though. I'll see how much a local guy wants that did my exhaust before should be pretty easy for him.
Nic
An internal star lock washer may work. Edited March 13, 2016 by Nic (see edit history)
Chris Wilson
An internal star lock washer may work. http://www.bakfin.com/starlock/images/imperial-roundshaft-starlock.jpg Cheap, no welding, no machining, nice idea! Maybe a couple of them to share the load?
Glanza_Mike
Great idea Nic thanks mate! I'll try this first as it's non-permanent.

I did this and it cured it Yes that's what I said too as a temp fix. A couple of small milakor/Jube clips at different angles would help.
