Guest MarineBlue
Hi all I suspect this has been asked before and I know they are hard to get but I was wondering if my Supra should have an active front spoiler?. There is no button on the dash as far as I can see but the front is missing a lip and there are some bolt holes. This could just be trim, its standard body kit. 95% stock car. Its a JDM 1995 TT6 manual RZ etc.. If it isn't meant to have one I think I still want one and any advice on how to get my grubby little hands on one would be much appreciated. Cheers, James. jonc
Sounds like you have not got one mate. Is there a black trim around the bottom of your bumper? It may have had an aftermarket lip fitted at some point. Look out on here in the fro sale adds. you will need the following:- 1. Button 2. Active spoiler ECU or controller (A couple of members in the past have made up controllers so you dont need the ECU adn can manually control the blade and sold them on here) 3. Active spoiler lip and motor 4. Active spoiler undertray. A few years ago all the FMIC lads were removing them as they take some fettling to fit around an active spolier so there will some around if you wait. Some cars had the wiring loom fitted with the connectors tucked up under the drivers side headlight and in the bottom of the centre console some cars dont. In that case you would have to make up a loom. if you buy one the fitting out is v easy really and does not take too long. photo of mine Spoiler up Spoiler down Blade, motor and under tray Spoiler assembly fitted with bumper removed ECU and connector in the centre console Hope this helps. Guest MarineBlue
That's really helpful, thank you. Supra looks great btw. I think the spoiler sets it off nicely. On mine, I think the front trim has been removed (possibly during a repair/bumper spray) as there are bolt holes for it. I may just settle for a new bit of trim to finish it off. I think the JDM were without AFS anyway weren't they? and mine is almost definitely a JDM. I'd still like to do it but I'm cautious of finding a home for a new button on the dash and the wiring loom and ecu all sounds potentially like a mare. If someone had those parts for sale I think I would buy it though, just for the sake of it. I'll keep an eye out. Thanks again.

Nic
Weren't all GZ models fitted with it? Yes I think it was standard on the GZ, it was also available on other models, my 94 RZ was fitted with one.
fastcar
My 93 RZ has one! I'm sure they are standard on all TT models
Guest MarineBlue
Hmm. So why doesn't mine have a button on the dash?. Anyone have a picture of where this button should be?
j_jza80
No, they're not. They're rare on all models except the UK spec and GZ's.
j_jza80
Hmm. So why doesn't mine have a button on the dash?. Anyone have a picture of where this button should be? The button would be located just under the stereo. There's 3 rectangular cutouts, the module one has the track control button, and on yours the other two are probably blank. The left hand one would have a heated seat switch, and the right one would have the active spoiler switch.
Big Supes
Taken from my car. You can see the two buttons on the right below the stereo.
Guest MarineBlue
Turns out it was an optional extra on earlier models. Mine (94/5) has the original blanking piece where the button would go. They seem pretty scarce anyway. If anyone has one I will probably get it fitted. Otherwise I think I will leave it. Thanks for the help anyway peeps. I guessed it was there from looking at the cheesy topgear piece they did on Supras. Mine is just a blank.

Guest MarineBlue
Since I am a new member, I am not allowed to post on the wanted section. I'd still like to ask though if anyone has a front lip (stock, black as can be found on whifbitz and ebay for about £120)? I'd also really like to source some stock alloys for the TT6 RZ. The ones I have are nice but don't really suit my taste. Thanks all.

Just keep an eye out for members selling the complete set up or contact Keron he may have the parts in. There are plenty of units out there and as long as you have the loom the retro fit is really easy. As others have said the button goes into the blanks. The ECU carrier is already there and all the bolt holes are already in position at the front of the car. Splendid supra btw! Cheers.I am just about to enter my 6th year of ownership with this one. I'm not as active as others on here as you can tell by my number of posts against the time I have been a member becasue life is too busy but I d pop in and out at times to see how the Supra world is doing
Guest MarineBlue
OK mate thanks a lot. I'm similar, had a Supra about 6 or 7 years ago and sold it. Regretted it ever since and have just bought one again. They've got dear! I've bought a front lip and if the AFS set up comes up I will probably change it for that. Thanks again for the help.
