Hammer
Hi guys, So, I have a fuel leak, pipe work (about 3/4 of the way back), just looked at it and it looks a pretty major job for replacement, is it? Any advice appreciated. Cheers.
Scooter
I'd remove the plastic bits and check the brake lines too as they probably won't be far behind.
Scooter
loads of brake line info here, which uses the same pipe run. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?140112-WARNING-15-year-old-brake-line-rotted-through I 'think' I've heard that the rear subframe needs dropping for the fuel line, you may be able to do part braided lines part solid or full braided as some single turbo guys do when needing larger bore pipes. I think there are some potential downsides to these re fuel resistance/expense maybe so needs research as I'm just going from hazy memory recall. Hammer
Cheers Scooter. I have it all uncovered and the brake lines appear to be in good health. I thought it looked like a rear subframe drop . If that's the case I'll get a garage to do the lot, including the brake lines whilst there at it, to be on the safe side.
Scooter
Reading the link it seems there are mixed opinions on the subframe drop.
Hammer
Yeh, cheers scooter, just reading through it and I think I'll leave it to the garage to sort as I don't have the time at present.
Mk4Gaz
If you decide to go for an6 braided lines, I can confirm that you don't need to drop the subframe
Hammer
Cheers Gaz, I'll look into that. I don't suppose you know the rough price for these by any chance.
