linconhawk
Pulled up yesterday after a short drive and noticed when parked up the revs were slightly going up and down, up and down, not much, probably between 500 and 800... I know there is quite a bit on here on this subject. But is there a quick easy check / something to replace to get me started or is it "most likely to be".......?? Something that's a common cause.... Just been serviced with new plugs etc, so presume it's not that... Many thanks
mellonman
Was the air con on? Or could be idle control valve
linconhawk
Thanks for reply mellonman. No, aircon not on.... I've read about the idle control valve, not sure where it's located on a N/A and what it looks like.. ?? Thanks
ripped_fear
Try cleaning the ICV but if your stuck I may have a spare kicking around.
Mike2JZ
Try cleaning the ICV but if your stuck I may have a spare kicking around. IACV is on the throttle body. Located just above your spark plugs. It sits next to the throttle position sensor.
linconhawk
Thanks all for your replies, much appreciated. I've read the guide in the FAQ, which I think was for a turbo, is it the same though ? Position and looks ? Thanks

Looks similar to the TT one just in a different location
Attero
See the attached photo. A little awkward to remove because of the cam cover. Might be able to remove it without having to remove the throttle valve - not sure though.
linconhawk
Hi all, Little update... I managed to get the icv off, looked inside it, ready to clean and it was immaculate !! Like brand new... So, I guess the fault isn't the icv... I've checked all pipes etc for leaks and couldn't see anything obvious.... Anything else I can check... ? Many thanks
fastcar
Could also be cam breathers being blocked! Not sure you if you have them on the NA I assum that you do, but have heard it can cause aratic idle on the TT's
