j_jza80
Bearing in mind how far the pound fell when the Brexit vote was announced any guesses how far it will fall when Brexit is triggered ! Not a great deal. I would guess there would be an immediate shock drop, but that it would return to the previous level quickly. The uncertainty has already been factored in. However, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if there is actually an increase. Doubtful, but as triggering article 50 will remove some uncertainty, the markets may respond positively. Pete
The less government, the better, IMO. Get rid of the old cronies. Have a listen to Lord West on The Now Show: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08hqm35

stevie_b
Here's the letter to the EU, if anyone's interested. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/29_03_17_article50.pdf Balanced and fair, I'd say. It'll disappoint those who wish for indyref2 in Scotland, as it says that won't happen. ("...we will negotiate as one United Kingdom...") j_jza80
The currency is holding steady for now. Very early days, but it does look like the markets had already accepted that article 50 was going to be triggered. I would think that while there will obviously be some fluctuations, the currency will remain at around this level until the new arrangements for our relationship with the EU and the single market become clear. It will be interesting to see what (if any) impact this has on the Euro. I bet they are glad that we never used the single currency, that would have created all sorts of headaches today. Chris Wilson
What a plonker, although it's nice to see patriotism being shown, and upside down Union flag taped to two wheelie bins???....... Gift to the Remainers here

Al Massey
You are right, sorry Councillor! Trust an ex serviceman to know how to fly the flag! That flag is only the right because it's not flying. If it was, it would be upside down and back to front. The eyelets are on the right. So being pedantic, you would say it's upside down. Wez
May has called for a General Election in June. I am guessing the other parties will be using this like a second EU referendum, interesting times ahead.
Dnk
Can't see how anyone else will win to be honest. What are the options ? i personally don't think we have any. She has my vote for sure
Shane
In June as well. So does that mean I can send a penalty notice to my LEA because my daughter will miss a day's schooling? Every single day's education for a six year old is essential you know.
j_jza80
Expect a lot of constituencies swapping, with Tory and Lib Dem gains, and Labour losing, resulting in a significant Tory majority. Not a good time for UKIP.
formatzero
Be interesting to see what happens up here too,can Tories or Lib Dems take seats from Queen Nicola:)
j_jza80
I could imagine the Tories making sone minor gains, but any sort of Labour resurgence just seems impossible.
