David P
I cast my vote just after 2pm and questioned re. how quiet it was, I was apparently the 4th or 5th person so far!
Nic
Been to a couple of polling stations today, once to vote, and the other while walking my dog, and I'm surprised how quiet they are. And the weather is beautiful up here. One is in an area you'd expect people to generally vote IN, the other OUT. Just voted, I was the only one there Thanks to all the contributors to this thread, it's been a very interesting and useful read
stevie_b
I reckon the polling stations will be heaving tonight. Everyone will descend on them after work. Don't leave it until the last minute, folks!
Style
Give it an hour and it'll get busy. Most folk will be working and just assigned voting to a 'on the way home from work' task. I'll be off to vote soon

No doubt they will get busier, but the polling stations I mentioned before normally have a steady stream of people going through them during elections etc. Maybe just a localised phenomenon, but it will be interesting to see what the turnout is like. Chris Wilson
I cast my vote just after 2pm and questioned re. how quiet it was, I was apparently the 4th or 5th person so far! Yeah, but I told you, the polling station is *NOT* the Pig and Porcupine....
Westcoaster
I know that back at home, most working folks and those too frail to get out, arrange a postal vote...... I took my daughter to vote for the first time back in May for the Scottish Parliament elections at around 6pm expecting the place to be heaving and it was quiet - I guess that voting in person is a dying trend. SteveC
Just voted OUT.... Nice pencils they have you mark your ballot paper with.... Me and the Mrs took no chances, we took our own permanent black marker pens. Out votes for us too. I'm quite optimistic - assuming the vote counting is fair. j_jza80
Although I expect a marginal remain victory, the EU hasn't won anything here. A marginal victory sends a very clear message along the lines of 'the EU is important, but it isn't working'. Of they now refuse serious reforms, the question of another referendum will crop up in 2020. And in addition to my earlier comment about the disconnect between the MPS and the electorate, the whole pen conspiracy thing that has been so prevalent today, must be a clear indicator that there is not trust in politicians any more. Suprakeith
I agree that remain will marginal win and the pens are a clear show of no trust, part of me believes that even if out wins they will loose papers so remain wins
SteveC
As I've mentioned previously, it seems odd to me that the official polls always had it as a close race, yet most polls on forums and websites have had leave as well ahead.
mc92
The pen/pencil conspiracy theories are keeping me amused You really think they're going to spend the time and effort to rub out a million Xs and mark in new ones by hand?

Pudsey
I am wondering what all the Glastonbury attendees have done about voting. Most people already seem to be there judging by yesterday's news. Some 200,000 expected.

JasonR24
The pen/pencil conspiracy theories are keeping me amused You really think they're going to spend the time and effort to rub out a million Xs and mark in new ones by hand? Wouldn't put it past them, although yes it is unlikely they would put the effort into rubbing out marks. The likely hood is that they would just commit voting fraud by removing leave votes or counting them as invalid. Voted leave earlier along with several other people. Everyone I've seen its been a leave vote....
