linconhawk
Hi all, I now have another problem... Got a puddle of water in the back right hand side of the boot, near the aerial side... Please see all pics... I can confirm the boot seals / rubbers are all ok and the spoiler is standard. From what I can see, could it be water coming down the gutter, behind the rear lights and through the weld seems ? I noticed when taking out the rear light, the 2 screw holes had some kind of black silicon around them, could this also be a water leak source ? The plastic panel with insulation on the back of it, you can see a wet water mark, but its only half way up, so water isn't coming in from above here.... Many thanks
supra900bhp
If was me and as you have the trim and light out water test it with a hose pipe With the rear light that top gap is fine as it ment be like that but on the top bolt hole it is split is there still the little rubber under there? If not that's probably why been glued up as the water will run straight to that point to drain away. What about the boot rubber above the drain channel with two bolts are they both there? As that maybe the water mark half way up inner panel. And is there a good seal around ariel? Any water marks on there in the dust? I would dry it all out and get someone to spray water all around the whole area and you get in side and water watch Good luck bud
supra900bhp
Oh also hard to see where the water mark would be any holes but is there a good seal to the loom from the rear light? Or is that taped up good so no water could run through the loom in side if split unlikely but never know water is a sneaky bugger sometimes
linconhawk
Hi guys, Supra900bhp, Thanks for replying to me... I went out again and checked everything you said, all looked ok... I got a watering can and started the water flowing.... it started to drip somewhere above the aerial... checked and checked the seal around the aerial and can confirm it wasn't that.... in the gutter, there is a "seam", above the rubber mount, I managed to feel it from underneath and I think that's where the water was coming from... I have siliconed it up with clear silicon, will check when dry, fingers crossed !!! Will update later tonight hopefully... Thanks again
supra900bhp
no worries bud hope it sorts it out for you with a easy fix we sometimes have to do this on the brand new cars that come in to us when tow bars/racks etc fitted but mostly ok you get the odd one that leaks from the factory OH THE FUN looking for them probs lol
TuneR
I have siliconed it up with clear silicon, will check when dry, fingers crossed !!! Will update later tonight hopefully... Hey mate, did this solve the issue? Mine is doing the same on both sides and seems to be the exact same as this. I originally thought it was the rear wiper and radio antenna but both are now sealed. A watering can check showed a small leak like you have shown.
gdog1989
Wattwatt had water leaking in his boot and turned out that under the rubber boot stop bits there is a gap for the water to flow they was blocked with dirt ect so cleaned them out and tested by running water down it as far as I'm aware it stopped the leak, hope this helps.
