Chris Wilson Posted February 18, 2016 Share Posted February 18, 2016 On my 2016 to do list is look at re-building these. I have a set from a V10 R8 here to investigate. I assume these are the ones with the magnetic fluid in them that changes viscosity under computer control, Audi call them "Magnetic Ride"? I know for a fact Bilstein do conventional sport dampers for the R8, but have never asked about the S8. If you Google JRZ Suspension I suggest you contact them, I know they were investigating a normal oil filled damper replacement for these things. Won't replacing them with conventional shocks bring up all manner of CAN warnings? Probably best to bite the bullet and replace them with oem, I'm sure the owner (you?) was aware of the costs of running an £80k car with Lambourghi components? Will probably cost £2k - £3k a year, but at least there will be no more horrible shocks (excuse the pun ). I sudder to think how expensive an engine or a gearbox would be for one of these.
