linconhawk
Hi all, Went to move the drivers seat forward (electric) and its packed up !!! Something on the left side of it (centre console side) has stopped working, down the side of there, I found a white plastic round thing, presuming this has come of somehow... Anyway, how do I go about removing the seat, as I cant get to the back bolts because the seat is too far back... ??? Thanks
Elmo
This brings back a lot of bad memories! At the font of each rail there is a nut, you need to turn each nut gradually (ideally at the same time) to draw the seat forward, just to give you enough room to access the floor bolts at the back. When my packed up one of the nuts came off and the seat didn't budge, I spent many hours in a hot car trying to get the damn seat out...good luck! linconhawk
Thanks for the reply. I have found some nuts under at the front of the rails... The one closest to the door spins as I use the button, so is working ok... The other side (closest to the centre console) is the side that seems to be jammed.... there is a 10mm nut that side, but when I undo it, the nut comes off... ??? Any ideas ?? Many thanks, Im desperate to get this sorted...
Elmo
That's the problem I had, I couldn't turn the nut without it coming off. It's a couple of years or more since I had the problem, I can't remember too much so can't really offer you much advice, I just remember it was a horrible job made worse by the fact that the replacement seat I travelled hours to collect didn't work either. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will reply soon.
linconhawk
Update... Ok, managed to fix it. Screwed up the nut tight, then it seemed to work... ? Strange.... anyway, yes, gradually turned the nut and the seat slowly moved forward... Took the seat out and on the centre console side, that white threaded "bung" I said I found was meant to screw into something... replaced it and all works perfect !! Elmo, thanks for your help...
