Faith reinstated with the bin men

I am sure it's nothing to do with a generous Christmas tip, but our bin men are most obliging about remarkably heavy wheelie bins and a 4 or 5 full bin liner bags left alongside the bin. I missed them this year, never seemed to be around when they called, so no tip. This morning I had 5 extra bin bags plus a very full (lid half open) wheelie bin as I forgot to put it out a fortnight ago. I saw them just driving off and ran across the front garden to just catch them at the neighbour's place opposite.

I bunged them their tip with apologies for missing them at Christmas and New Year. As they drove off I then went across to outside the front gate and found the bin empty but only one bag taken, the other 4 still on the ground. Cursing I put them in the empty bin, which was then over half full again...

I went back in and half an hour later heard the bin wagon pull up outside again. The head guy came to the door and asked where the bin liners were they were "coming back for" ;)

Tips are a wonderful thing, our relationship is once more cemented for another 11 months!
