Hello,

Just a question about Facelift indicators, can someone explain to me why I can get a set off eBay for £40 posted or I can buy some from whifbitz for £140?

Whifbitz:

eBay:

What's the difference? Genuine Toyota vs copies?

ive seen guys use mr2/celica looms etc to make them fit to save buying the looms but not a neat job. the looms will also still need splicing in anyway to fit on a pre-facelift.

if your going to do it, personally id do it oem. Yes its costs more but you get a better finish.

81510-80086 LAMP ASSY, FRONT TURN SIGNAL, RH

81520-80086 LAMP ASSY, FRONT TURN SIGNAL, LH

The LH front indicator/sidelight doesn't include the wiring harness (they plug directly into the main wiring loom on a facelift) so you will either need to fabricate a harness or buy an extra RH wiring harness (the tabs of the bulb holder will need modifying slightly to fit the LH indicator). Either way they are not plug and play, you'll need to wire up the side lights to the wires that go to the headlights on a pre-facelift, there is a guide here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?31633-How-To-Fit-facelift-front-indicators

If you buy non genuine indicators they don't include the bulb holders/harness, so you'll need to buy 2 x harnesses

This is the part number for the extra harness

Sorry to hijack the thread but are there any alternatives to the facelift inidicator markers on the front bumper as well? The orange OEM ones just don't suit my car and I'd rather get a smoked or at least clear set

So you want pre-facelift indicators but with clear or smoked lenses? The only ones I've ever seen are these ones

No, the facelift indicator repeaters that sit at the corners of a facelift front bumper. Indicator only lights if you know what I mean. There's proper names for these but they're escaping me just now, sorry Nic :D

Ideally the same size and just smoked or even clear.

I've got the eBay indicators and they have been fine for the last few years. To save money, I bought some connectors from eBay for them from the advice of a forum member, and besides the 2 weeks it took for them to be delivered from Taiwan, they cost me about £6.

If you compare the OEM Toyota and aftermarket facelift indicators side by side the OEM ones are much better quality. The OEM ones have orange reflectors inside the indicator section, the aftermarket ones have all chrome reflectors which can be a deciding point. These are the OEM ones on mine.

You can also see the transparent front facelift side markers fitted in this pic.

Any links to these connectors?
