Air Guide for OEM UK Bonnet Scoop

MATT RR

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have the air guide for the OEM bonnet scoop for sale?

Or does anyone have a part number form the EPC? I have access to the EPC but it’s not on my chassis number with it being an import. I know the scoops are discontinued but I wanted to check availability of the air guide that attaches underneath.

Thanks in advance :)

Matt

Try https://www.amayama.com to compare the prices, they worked out cheaper than Mr T. Shameless plug but I have a new Air Guide Scoop for sale here as I ordered 2 by mistake - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?326134-New-10Bar-Pressure-Sensor-amp-Loom-Engine-Torque-Damper-Kit-Samco-End-Caps-amp-More

Dam I ordered a new one from Toyota yesterday, thanks though mate, Yours is a good price for a brand new one, I paid a bit more from Toyota but not much so that's a bargain for someone.

You can still buy all the underside stuff, JM Imports got mine from Toyota last March. They charged me £108 - no idea what it actually costs though.

Don't worry that's a fair price for all of the underneath, I got a good discount from a mate at Toyota and it was not far off that at all for all of the underneath kit, there is a lot more to it than I first thought :)

Is there any need to fit the underside unless its on a UK car and has the snorkel that the air is directed down into

I imagine not but the reason I want it is to make it look neater/tidier where the hole is cut, and also to give the air some sort of direction/flow instead of just doing whatever it likes when it hits the scoop intake

Do you know if the snorkel can be fitted to a vvti engine or is it only for a UK?

Sorry Matt I've no idea if the snorkel can be fitted to a j spec

You could make a simple flat plate for the underside out of say st/st sheet or ally sheet

and cut and fold a vent into it which would look good and be easy to make

A quick sketch to show what I mean

Thanks appreciate that, Ive actually ordered one now though from Toyota, but that is a brilliant idea, probably very cheap to get fabricated and divert cool air straight onto the top of the engine, maybe a market on here for that if someone gets some made? Ive seen quite a few Supra's with scoops and no vent underneath :)

Hi mate,

I already have a new OEM scoop that's just arrived, so I ordered all of what Toyota had available for the underside which was as follows:

76182-14010 Guide, Hood Air Intake

76183-14010 Protector Hood Bulge, No. 1

76184-14010 Protector Hood Bulge, No. 2

93567-14512 Screws (8)

90179-06058 Nuts (4)

76186-14010 Seal, Hood Air Intake

The only two parts they cant get are a retainer and the mesh plate as follws (I have cut my own mesh to fit):

76187-14010 Retainer, Hood Air Intake Guide, No. 1 (2)

76192-14010 Plate, Hood Bulge
