foggy147
Bit sad this I know, but just wondered if there was anyone else on here that has re-kindled their childhood love for Lego? I have currently been buying the modular sets, having just completed the first 3 I have bought, the Palace Cinema, the Parisian restaurant, and the pet shop. The level of detail in these is unbelievable, especially in the restaurant one, and when you start getting them lined up together it creates a very impressive set. I have yet to start building the brick bank, and hope to be buying the detective office in the not so distant future. After that it's unfortunately then trying to pick up some of the retired sets that go for silly money, mainly the haunted house, fire station and town hall are the ones I really want. The green grocer would be ace but at 1k not a chance. Anyway a few pics so far: Got the high speed passenger train set coming soon, so the plan is to run some sort of train line through the city, I also need to get some more road base plates, along with the usual street lamps, traffic lights, trees etc to add in the detal. Problem is it gets a little obsessive and once you start it seems to spiral out of control lol!
Graham1984
Did the restaurant come complete with the optional 'Terrorist element'? All I remember Lego wise was the Police and Fire stations.... it was the 90's though.
SupraAyf
That's a fantastic collection - love it. I was passing a book shop the other week and it just so happened to have a book on every Lego figure made since the start of the brand. It seems that I have all of the Lego figures up my attic from the first 10-years of production.
ripped_fear
I loved lego while I was a kid, and just the other day I was in town with a mate and we went to the lego shop. I fell in love with this- https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Tsnn--W1Hl4/maxresdefault.jpg I walked away from it but keep thinking about ordering it.

The creator sets are usually very detailed and are great sets. They do a mini cooper one and VW campervan, the little details are always great. Lego aint cheap but it can hold its value fairly well, often going for good money if its retired and desirable.

Yeah they had those on display too but the F40 has always been one of my all time favourite cars, and the detail was brilliant. You could even tell what car it was from the engine. Good to know they hold their money!
MRX
Loved leg as a kid, and had loads of fun building starwars lego with the boys at xmas. My favourite was an early Technic set - https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8086/8436730636_8f569278c2_b.jpg
cheekymonkey
Oh, yes! 4 years ago I saw the technic supercar in the lego shop and my wife got it for me for christmas. Since then I have about 10 technic kits - digger, helicopters, planes, and most recently a big ass crane. Awesome stuff. And my favourite non-technic lego - little Wall-E! http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/WALL-E-21303?HQS=wall-e%20lego The only problem I have found is that lego boxes these days aren't as good as they used to be. They are not as sturdy and can't be re-used so much, so most of my kits end up in the strong plastic boxes with blue handles that you can get from hobbycraft or supermarkets. Style
Must admit I loved the K-NEX stuff, I had the big roller coaster set back in the day it was enormous! So did I I had another big set that I got for my Christmas one year. Was a tower of some sort that was like a moving assault course or something. I've got a picture of me standing next to it somewhere and it was a lot taller than I was! Favourite model I had was the little car with working rack and pinion steering

My favourite was an early Technic set - https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8086/8436730636_8f569278c2_b.jpg I had the car chassis that predated that one. The red four seater with the inline four engine and two speed gearbox. I later got a book which suggested a body that could be built to go on top of the chassis. Turns out it was a Volvo http://www.thecreativebrick.co.uk/2013/01/car-chassis-technic-set-853/
