Guest hainzy
Hi guys. Newbie alert! I don't have a Supra but I have had several supra gearboxes behind my Holden V8s, because they are a nice gearbox, easy to adapt with the available bellhousings, and the shifter comes out in the correct spot!! But Im hoping a knowledgeable Supra/Toyota gearbox guru can help me identify this gearbox? Its a toyota box and I thought it was from a Supra but my diff guy cant work out which model it is. Basically it needs some TLC as the syncros are very worn but he cant source the bits. He reckons it has an unusual 3 piece syncro setup and he cant find it in his book so he reckons it must be an imported box. He just isn't sure what part to order in as it has no internal markings. Ive included a coupla pics of the innards. Does anyone have any thoughts on its origin? And by the way Im in Australia so this might narrow it down... He is a diff and gearbox guru and has been doing them for 40 years so he definitely knows most toyota boxes but this ones got him stumped. Sorry I should have got a photo of it before it was pulled apart, but I thought it would be straight forward... Cheers for any help.

Guest hainzy
Thanks heaps guys. Sorry I just realised I cant spell 'need', so it doesn't matter if your name isn't Ned. All help appreciated. There are no serial numbers or markings other than a pair of numbers 3 - 1 stamped into it. My diff guy thinks it might be some sort of Toyota Hilux box or a random imported jobby. Anyway here's some more pics. Cheers.

Chris Wilson
And I don't think Ned is going to help. Love the safety sandals BTW
nootysupra
That's a Toyota R series box. Not a 154 though. Hard to give the exact model without knowing the gearing etc - looking at the state it's in, I'm guessing that's out of the question. nootysupra
They can? Clearly that 'box hasn't been graced with some of my cack handed shifts!
Guest hainzy
Ha Thanks guys. Maybe an R150 box then? I guess this box is a bit like an aussie. No real identity and missing a few teeth...
