Central locking issues

I have a similar fault on the passenger side, so less critical. I lost the ability to lock via electronic command. Diagnostics showed the the signal to lock the doors was permanently being held to ground by something. Found it was the little sensor / switch attached to the door lock barrel had fallen off and I could not see how to reattach it properly - so I just disconnected it.

I now have central lock back again via drivers side doors switch and alarm fob. The only thing that doesn't trigger the central locking now is the passenger side door physical key.

If you are willing to do the same, you'd lose physical key based central locking from the drivers side door, but electrical based lock and unlock should still work - assuming you have correctly diagnosed the broken part of course!
