Broken mirror?

Came home from work earlier, jumped in the Supra (parked on drive) and went for a spin but within a few hundred yards I noticed that the passenger door mirror seemed to be vibrating excessively so I pulled over to check it out and something is broken (I think) it doesn't hold in the regular position and will very easily flap about by hand, it will fold shut but won't "lock" into the open position, I guess its fubar'd ?

It was fine yesterday so it has happened on my drive today and I can only assume that the postman has rushed past it and caught it :badmood:

I could expect this in a car park but not on my drive. Can anybody confirm its had it without me taking it off and looking?

I had the same happen to my electric folding passenger mirror. Wouldn't hold in place and basically just flapped about. I just chucked and replaced it.

I guess the motor has gone or the mechanism that moves it has just worn out and started passing on the teeth of the gears or something
