Guest Troy_2jz
Recently viewed a white manual twin turbo in pristine condition, absolute stunner of a car. Only problem is can't seem to find any insurance companies that don't expect over £400 a month! surely there are providers out there that are reasonable. These were online quotes, anyone know who is worth giving a call?? many thanks.
j_jza80
Try insuring it on a classic policy with very limited mileage. Insuring a J-spec TT6 at 23 as a daily drive is obviously going to be extremely expensive. Maybe consider a UK spec manual / auto instead. ripped_fear
Give sky a call, I had my na5 insured with them for 6 years 4 of which as a daily from 20 years old and now have my tt6 as a toy. Always been a great price
Mike2JZ
Comparison sites online are usually more expensive than phoning up directly. There are a couple of 'specialized' insurance companies you could try. Sky, Adrian Flux, Compeition car etc search the forums insurance threads for some more ideas. Guest Troy_2jz
thanks for the advice, an auto is not an option and UK specs are extremely rare to come across. Ringing up and getting a classic policy hopefully will see a difference.
Littler
There are companies out there, at 21 my insurance was ridiculous at £2100 but at 23 it was around the £700 mark for an imported TT, a UK spec will be cheaper. I found there difference between auto and manual was £20-£30.
Alex_GT
£400 a month? At 23? That doesn't seem right, do you have any driving convictions?
tkddav3
Admiral mate, I've had mine with them since I was 20. Was around £1500 to start, now 5 years later it's around £
Guest Troy_2jz
Nope no convictions, I'm thinking these are standard car insurance quotes as opposed to classic/ limited mileage. 'Littler' what was the company you used to insure? I might try phoning sky see what they offer.
Littler
At 23 it was admiral, standard policy, not a classic car policy (although I switched to one the following year), just had a nosey at the documents, it was £696, fully comp, 5 years protected no claims, 8,000 mileage per year. SaqTRD
Footman James. Classic car insurers. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how cheap they are.
Tyson
Try Lancaster insurance, at 25 they are insuring me for 180 quid for a tt6 on a limited miles policy of 4000 miles and that's with agreed valuation. I would strongly suggest you ask them what they would pay out if your car was a right off, it will put you off a lot of main insurance companies straight away. I'd pay more for an insurance company who offered agreed value so I was properly covered on my car.
The Raven
I think you will find classic car insurance has a 25 year old limit. I dont remember for definite but it may be that he is to young. If not then every 17 year old could be driving around in stupid fast cars paying peanuts for insurance
Guest Troy_2jz
Got a quote from admiral was on hold about 25 mins! £125 a month, its considerably better however i still think could do better.
Mike2JZ
As above, most classic policies have requirements that make it difficult for young drivers to have (at least from what Ive seen as well). I'm with admiral and on a similar amount a month and I'm 23, be interesting to see if you find anything cheaper

Hitbox Junkie
Prices are high as we are young and I'm the eyes of them we are stupid. Also it's a high performance car. But they also take into account where you are from where the car is going to be kept/area and crime ect I hate it as the company's have the monopoly as you have to be insured to drive on the UK roads I won't even tell you what I've got to pay I'm 24. Next year hopefully will drop alot as il be
ashloys
Jeez, I was onlying paying £550 last year with Flux, 24 with 2 years NCB and 6 points. Now I'm 25 it's down as a classic for £300ish
