a98pmalcolm
Hi have done some looking into but can't find anything with a straight up answer regarding experience ect. Can an auto TT tensioner be used on a manual eliminating the shock arm. From what I have read the shock arm is there due to manual gear changes are less smooth than the auto changes helping the tension remain tight. Has anyone ran a TT auto tensioner on a manual before? Thanks Paul
David P
Lots have and do, but why risk it? Dude is the expert at throwing belts.

Mike2JZ
Why not just get a polished manual arm, and a billet shock arm that some vendors sell. That way you get the bling and reassurance your belt has less chances of coming off

a98pmalcolm
Lol.. Well i have a billet arm. And im struggling to find a Spare manual arm. What im thinking is use the auto arm i have spare while my arm gets polished. so will run it for a week or so with the auto arm How ever if the car will run just as good without the the tension bar id rather the tidier look... robby a
I run an auto one in my manual tt bpu. I'm sure I read somewhere that it's better to run an auto tensioner if your upping the power. The manual tensioner makes the belt jump
TheTurtleshead
Doesn't seem to make a difference from my experience. Seen plenty of manual cars running without the manual tensioner. My car still has it's auto tensioner and it's no slouch. It hasn't thrown the belt. For ultimate peace of mind fit it, it's there for a reason. Wouldn't worry me.
