Scott
Off topic. I actually have a copy of auto cad on windows if you want a copy, happy to send it to you Many thanks for the kind offer. I do actually have it available to me through work, I've just never bothered to install it lol. It's funny as I curse myself for not installing it everytime I want to use it but as soon as I'm finished the task I forget about it again

Mk4Gaz
Scott, you might be able to answer a question I have, about my setup.... I have used a relay, and followed mellonman's diagram. Everything works as it should, but, every now and again whilst driving, I can hear the relay in the boot clicking away. I have no idea why it does it, and it only does it randomly, as if the voltage is dropping and causing the relay to pulse on and off? That will be what scotts talking about with the 9v drop out , if the voltage drops below the 9v the relay will switch but as it does there is then no current drawn on the fuel ecu feed and then has the current to activate the relay again, it would be better to change the relay to a lower voltage drop out , but its not a massive issue as the 9v feed is only when your not in positive boost , depends on how good your fuel ecu is to how much you keep dropping out some fuel ecus didnt need to be bypassed to run the walbro and some do. Still best to change the relay though bud.
Scott
As above, get the relay that I posted earlier and that should sort your problem

mellonman
You wont believe what just happend to me!! Well you will because I have posted it in this thread but my relay just failed pulling up to a junction cut out, wouldnt start again . I was messing about in the boot finding a leak earlier, so all boot panels where off so easy access to the relay messed around with the relay checking connections, it started again went to the shop woulndt start again and couldn't hear the pump prime put in my shorting wire to bypass the relay started straight away! Hows that for sods law or? Scott M you can put your voodooo doll of me away now I was only trying to help lol

mellonman
To be fair it is been there a few years and the fuel pumps do draw a fair amount of current it could be the actual contacts with high resistance on the relay. I will test it when I change it . But your chosen relay is a good choice they didnt have that information when I was buying mine so thanks for finding a suitable relay
