i caught out the specilist working on my Audi.

They called me a tight cu*t who shouldn't have an expensive car because i was fitting Bosch alternative spark plugs (they advised them...) which were missing once installed paid for the OEM ones after they admitted they should have recommended them first..

Anyone seen the post they put out on their facebook. The member of staff has quit but the worst thing imo is the company is sticking to the 'he was trying to avoid the potholes' comment.

The best thing they could have done would have been to just apologise and say the member of staff was a fool and is now gone.

Its a shame that social media will destroy the reputation of the business which is pretty big and takes so many years to establish

I feel for the owner as one mistake from a stupid employee is potentially going to cost him big time here, But i dont think they are helping themselves still trying to claim the drivers innocence

Best thing they could do is apologize, own up to what the reckless employee done and try to reassure people that idiots like him no longer work their and it wont happen again...etc

Just my opinion of course

I'm guessing you haven't heard of scoobyclinic then.

Ask any scoobyowner what they think of the place.

It's not one mistake by one employee.

Unfortunately I get the impression that this is typical of most places nowadays. A lot of garages won't fork out for the specialised tuners/mechanics. Every single one around my way, specialised tuners or not, has the same element of employee in their midst. I never let any of my cars out of my sight and often try to get the owner or someone who I can see knows what they are doing to work on the cars.

Only 2 places I go now and one of them the guy works from home in his garage. He takes full ownership of all his work.

been following it on FB.

Employee has handed his notice in

The owner just went straight to the papers and didn't give the garage chance to sort it out - which is unfair IMO

They spend 11k on that lane only last year - for 11k I would have wanted the thing actually fixing - they wasted 11k looking at that video

The owner of the car gave them a few days to put things right, he even refused to put the video up until they had been in touch. Couple of days later the video emerged but only after the owner of the garage had challenged the existence of the video and had made several negative comments regarding the customer.

The owner of the car said his dash cam had been completely reset to factory settings when he checked it later but obviously the footage was still on the memory card.

I got the feeling the garage owner thought there wasn't any footage and they car owner was trying it on. Unfortunately this and his subsequent lack of proper apology or offer to make things right means he felt the full force of a social media tidal wave.

This is what I had read so the owner was fully justified, dodgy business with a dodgy reputation.
