RedM
I need to book the old gal in for a service and thought it might be a good idea to take her to Toyota for it. How much should I be looking to pay and what should be done during the service?
Bobbeh
£200 on a major 'B' service for a UK car, and thats only checks tho. You'll get things like oil change etc but any other fluids are extra.
RedM
Is that a fixed rate or do they vary from one dealership to another? So they'll change the oil but what about filters etc? Am I going to have to pay for them? Oh, and thanks for replying so promptly.
Bobbeh
It covers filters too, but things like coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid are all checked, but will be extra if you decide to have them changed/topped up. Rates do vary, the one I goto now charge £75 an hour for labour. They were £70 last year!
michael
I believe the 75 also includes the fuel filter so factor in some extra cost for this - I'll check my receipt from Toyota when I remember but it wasn't cheap and the work they did wasn't all that impressive. You pay a lot for checks and for them to put the wrong oil in... oh and expensive screenwash that can't possibly have been added due to the system being full and various other scams they pull off. Or maybe this is just Benfield in Leeds
RedM
Been into Benfield (Wakefield) this morning and the guy isn't sure it needs a service! I said I'd like a B service anyway so they are going to have it in on Monday. Question is, what is the gap between services. I'm sure I've read 5000 miles somewhere, with oil changes evry 3-5K Can someone give me the definitative answer?
