ripped_fear
Good luck with the search Rog, not an easy kit to find. Hope you find a reasonably priced one.
DodgyRog
Good luck with the search Rog, not an easy kit to find. Hope you find a reasonably priced one. There is one on EBay, but he wants £3800 which is over priced anyway, also he can't prove the mileage, it's not in a car, so can't be tested I've made him an offer, which he sent a sarcastic message back for, so guessing that isn't worth the risk anyway if he can't reply in a normal " no that's not enough" style

Scott
£3800 is good for the conversion given the going rate. I'd want it to be guaranteed somewhat though.

Well if that is the going rate, then I guess I will be going else where By the time it's got a diff, fitted you are looking at £4.5 plus which is mad for a 20 year old gearbox
Rob_Mitchell
He said he couldn't prove the mileage to me When did you buy it Rob Been in talks about a week mate but bought it last night. Just waiting to hear from him to remove it ect. I didn't pay the asking! Nowhere near but I'm only around the corner so pick up is easy. Its actually done 27,000 miles according to previous company who removed it

I would of had to take a day of work, rent a van etc, so had to factor that in. Can you Pm me the price so I have an idea for reference

Surely you have a diff already? If you want a "big" diff you'll need a lot more than 4.5k also. They sell for upwards of £1k now and are as rare as hens teeth. The prices are only going to go up due to the prices of the cars increasing and the rarity of the bits.

I have an N/A Torsen Diff, so would just want a TT one for ratio's, not worried about it being a Big Case Diff, I am not going to be chasing power

Auto's and facelifts have the smaller diffs. The small diffs can be had for reasonable money and are reasonably easy to get Have you looked at fitting a 5spd? j_jza80
There was a gearbox alone for sale for £4200. The complete conversion prices are £4k-£4.5k these days, which as you say is madness. R154 conversions are £2500+ now, so I very much doubt you'll find a Getrag conversion for £3k. Its actually done 27,000 miles according to previous company who removed it It's funny how few low mileage Supras there are, yet every single 6 speed gearbox, crank pully, set of stock twins etc for sale seems to come from a 20k odd car. berg
6 speed and reasonable do not go together Last few kits Keron has sold have been £4k onwards as i was looking a few months ago but i wasnt willing to part more than £3k even that was madness As they are rarely for sale people seem to be willing to pay anything for them

I am considering going down the BMW gearbox route, but the V160 would keep value in the car and be an easy conversion, the BMW is still an unknown really and know traders seem to want to do it I don't have the time or a place to do it myself, so need a reliable trader
Sheefa
I have to say if I was after the cash I doubt I would sell my Supra complete unless for the absolute asking price. Clearly too much to be had in parts, big diff and 6spd conversion at instant £5k alone. Sad really but it is certainly a sellers market.

Stupidly low price for Titan box and coolers and TC Yeah I am considering it, but it is massive over kill for me and I certain won't be able to live with a 3800 stall torque convertor anyway
DodgyRog
I have been put in touch with a garage that builds rally and performance track cars and has already done a 2jzgte to BMW gearbox Going to have a chat with them tomorrow

Scott
Remember that the value of the 6spd won't drop. I know it seems like a lot of money to spend but you could easily get your money back the next day. I seriously doubt any other install would be similar. Rob_Mitchell
If I hadn't sealed a deal on the 6speed I would be all over that Titan box forsale. Proven to hold massive lower, great drive and very smooth changes. With 4 coolers too!! And the high stall! It's a crazy cheap price. The 3800 ain't bad at all either many people who would swop a 3600 for it anyways
rider
There is one on EBay, but he wants £3800 which is over priced anyway You can still buy new ones for £8,000. £3,800 doesn't seem too steep for a box in good working condition, the 98% feedback and bolshie attitude might put me off though..
