Jellybean
Hey My mate got his oil pump changed 2 years ago , but it is leaking ; its a T67 single turbo if it makes a difference RZ GTE Inside the chamber is 2 Springs and a valve that's what failed mechanic changed oring after oil pressure came back up it pissed out again Then he also tried putting in a copper ring with the oring and when he tightened it down it popped off the trades Any idea's what causes this to go , Front main seal? Tricky-Ricky
If the oil pressure relief spring nut has been over tightened it can cause cracking to the housing, which is probably why its still leaking.
Jellybean
Thanks! Also trying to confirm he used a new OEM O ring, must be one or the other
Chris Wilson
The casting wall where the female thread for the pressure relief valve spring is formed is very thin. It seals via an o ring and MUST NOT be tightened very tight at all. As TR says, they crack for fun and are not economically repairable. New pump time if it has a hairline crack in the casting
