American (isms)

It may just be me and the fact that I haven't slept for 3 days... but I do find it exceedingly annoying when bonnets are refered to as hoods and wings as fenders. If we're not careful it will become acceptable to misspell colour, refer to aluminium as aluminum and use z's instead of s's. We're not american and we drive on the right side of the road so come on people!

i work with some Americans... They all have catchphrases like American sitcoms

Peon #1 - Well, here's the thing (before every sentence)

Peon #2 - Ok-Ok-Ok-Ok-Ok, rightrightrightright (in response to his question being answered)

Peon #3 - And it's just that (After every sentence)

Peon #4 - Is that right? (When someone says something)

I thought you wanted to move there!

I do! I'm on a mission to civilise.

Fact - every US mooovie ever made contains the phrase 'Gaad Daam It!'

One of my favourite shows, but it over uses that!

As annoying as finishing every sentence with "like".

This! I spent a distressing hour or so on Eurostar the other day sitting next to a silly cow who was on her phone for most of the journey who it seemed was unable to say 3 words without adding "like" arghhh!

It was a 3 hour journey but after an hour I couldn't stand it anymore and requested a seat change. "I was like...." and "he was like....." in a transatlantic drawl. Stupid bitch.
