Tyson
Mercedes of that era are not renowned for their reliability plus that shape cl looks a bit naff. But I bet it has a hell of a sound track Even if it will be a money pit.
Phlukey
My Dad had a black one of these. They say nice, but aren't that quick at all due to the fact they weigh as much as a house.
CASHEYE
In the last 10 years the only advisories are 1 set of worn tyres. Unless this brick was stored in a sterilised hermetically sealed room, I'd call bullshit on that one.

It certainly appears to be in very good condition for one of these. I would love one of these, the non AMG models one of the best looking Mercs ever imo. But they are truly wallet ruiners, trying to run one without a warranty would be financial suicide. I think that the rust issues, coupled with reliability woes and extreme running costs will write off the vast majority of these cars, and eventually they will be both rare and valuable. Shhh, forget all that, it's a bargain. I want someone to buy it and tell me how much fun it is.
and1c
Monumental running cost potential. Epic parts prices. Not very quick. But a lot of car for the money!
Thorin
Not very quick. Faster than a TT Supra.

a98pmalcolm
For the price its fan imo.. Not many 500bhp cars with all the gadgets at that age for the price
Spunkmeyer
My mates after the replacement CLS with the sloped back, first gen. Any such concerns for this age/shape? Spending approx £12-15k I completely get these older ones in the thread are a pit but nice all the same. He's pragmatic but wouldn't shrug off big bill repairs like us supra owners do I recall a supra guy bought a black AMG and loves it
