brom86
Has anyone experienced the reverse gear being hesitant to change into? I can put it into reverse however can take anywhere from 3 to 10 seconds to change. Checked level and seems ok. Any suggestions on what could be or to fix? trebor69
Girlfriend's lucida had a leak from one of the pipes (trans cooler)and the level got quite low anyway she eventually had it fixed and although the fluid is back up to level it has had this same issue ever since. I don't know if this helps you any....
brom86
I'll maybe get the gearbox fluid changed over and see how that goes Edited January 6, 2016 by brom86 (see edit history)
GTR Fever
Assuming you checked the level properly (engine started and gears R, N, D, 1 selected before putting back into P/ N to check level), look at the lines themselves to make sure they have no kinks anywhere or restrictions. David P
It sounds like low fluid level from lack of maintenance. It's incredible just how many lovingly polished Supra's that have never had the dipstick looked at since they left the factory.
David P
There has recently been such a spate of similar self inflictions, I have added a numbnuts check list to the Transmission Group. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?groupid=57 Edited January 12, 2016 by David P (see edit history)

David P
That's what it's for. numbnut. I add the answer to every auto transmission question I get asked and have Indexed them by post title, to save keep answering them again-again-again. When a new one pops up, I just add it to the list, I'm one post behind re. Throttle Position Sensor adjustment at the mo, because my Workshop Manuals are out on loan. David P
Low fluid level, 20 years old fluid or a partially blocked strainer is my best Mystic Dave prediction for this one(s). David P
This guide that I have added to the Transmission Group might help? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=189&do=discuss Most faults are self inflicted by poor maintenance, electrickery dickery and throttle body tinkerings. David P
I don't know if either of you have tinkered with the control cables on the throttle body? If you have, check that you have refitted the line feed cable onto the correct ramp and is adjusted correctly.

Delboy52
Throttle Position Sensor adjustment at the mo, because my Workshop Manuals are out on loan. I have some colourful PDF's with random pages missing for extra irritation if you miss your complete set of paper manuals? They are living the life of luxury on a cosy shelf in my garage waiting for your signal to return. Dare I say, we might actually be done with fault finding on my Supra. David P
I found pics of the pages and have posted them in the transmission Group for reference. You might?
