Sorry if any of this has been asked

I've done reports for carpet manufactures on this

The carpet fitter had the prongs too long and kicked it too hard

Carpets should not be kicked to hard to fit

It's only to pull out the slack in the carpet

How old is the carpet ?

Did you get fitter or did the store

Make a complaint to the retailer/ manufacture

Having the teeth too far out wouldn't cause that to the carpet it would just dig into the underlay or floor. Also not having the teeth out far enough will rip the carpet as it has not stuck into the backing giving a weak grip. Which I've seen many of times and looks nothing like that.

As mentioned the marks look like a substance in the shape of the stretcher head.

Unless the floor underneath is really oily and it's seeping though the holes made by the stretcher :D

The carpet is about 4/5 years old. This was fitted in the house before we moved in (new build) and due to time scales, I think I'll get no help/cover from the builder. Down to me to get a solution.

The thing thats so strange, is the carpet has been fine all this time. They in a matter of a couple of months all these stains have suddenly appeared. Gets worse every time I look at the carpet.

Have you tried renting one of those Rug Doctor machines, Ed? A weekend hire, plus chemicals, is about £35.

£35 a weekend hire for a doctor. WOW

Where do I sign??? F**k the carpet, she can look me over first!!!

Seriously mate, been scrubbing this all afternoon with shampoo,... and if I can''t shift the stain, a hire machine probably wont touch it.

Very strange. Would like to analyse the situation myself.

Only thing else I can think of is glue slowly attracting dirt.
