gurteen0
Morning all what sort of price tag would u put on a supra Manual 6 speed with either stem seals Or piston rings needing to be replace
JackyBoi
Hi mate my best guess, although entirely depending on the condition of the car throughout, whether or not it's single turbo, extra mods etc, would be around 12-14k minus the cost of entirely fixing both of those issues. Are you not sure if it's the stem seals or piston rings that is wrong?
Frank Bullitt
Morning all what sort of price tag would u put on a supra Manual 6 speed with either stem seals Or piston rings needing to be replace We need more info than that to be able to provide a price. What's the year, mileage, spec, condition of body work, service history et cetera. Also pictures would help
cered
Better off spending the £1k or so to repair and sell. I wouldn't buy a car that needed major work because it'd appear as though you're selling it because you feel it's not worth repairing
gurteen0
It's got 98k on clock standard power other than exhaust and filter brand new 19" wheels few gauges inside had compression test done and was a little low on #6 I get a little puff of blue smoke on cold start up
j_jza80
I'd probably start at around £9k, but expect £7k for it *if* it's in otherwise good and mostly stock condition.
Chris Wilson
A sensible buyer would have to assume it needs a rebore and new pistons and rings. To not also do the guides and stem seals at the same time would be sheer madness. So let's say £3.5K to do that lot (conservative price, could be more). Knock 3.5K plus a bit more for the hassle of getting it done, off what it is worth in fine condition.

Dnk
What psi readings did you get ? Leak down test it to see where its losing the cylinder pressure from then take it from there
Havard
You can guarantee there will be more work needed once it gets opened up. As a prospective buyer I would be knocking a couple of grand off for hassle factor and then the worst case for the work. Surely it's better to get the work done and then sell the car for it's full market value. H.
