Parry_10
Hi guys, Some of you may know I am building 1000+ hp supra no expense spared pretty much have the best of everything for the car. Now I've gone with a vvti head and heard about this dbw throttle. My questions are what parts do I need for this and what difference will this make to my car. Thanks in advance Chris
Scoot
Just at a guess. A DBW Throttle, with an electronic throttle pedal. An ECU that'll take a DBW throttle.
Parry_10
Got syvecs s6 and a full hypertune intake and throttle body. I don't really want to get rid of that throttle body but if it will make the car a lot better then I will.
chazuk
Think Whifbitz has done a DBW on a syvecs

Swampy442
Thats what I was going to say Gaz, JohnnyG's car was Syvecs and daw, but didn't use a Toyota throttle, was a Corvettes if I remember rightly?
johnny g
Check my garage for part numbers. You will need an adapter making for your TB, you can get wiring with OEM connectors from http://www.currentperformance.com/product-category/oem-connectors/ls2-ls7/ Syvecs runs it all beautifully. johnny g
It was all done as a single upgrade with the Big Twins, and I had it done to cure my paranoia about sticking throttles after my previous car tried to kill me. The driving was very smooth, progressive and assured. It did give an extra dimension to the Syvecs TC setup and the blip on downshift. The Syvecs could close the throttle rather than just cut timing, spark and fuel. It was very nice. I would definitely go and do it again. I was just happy that I did it first

Not sure I want to ruin the loon of my hypertune intake and throttle body though
Lee P
DBW is good for control, works very well with traction and launch control. It's main benefit though is with auto or DCT gearboxes
Luxluc
Whilst going VVTi, I would ho DBW. That's what I'm gonna do when the VVTi head will be installed ; Electronic throttle body and electronic gas pedal ; there is not more needed. The Syvecs will control it. Paul Whiffin
H It's tempting for sure. Not sure I want to ruin the loon of my hypertune intake and throttle body though We are having adaptors made at the moment to bolt the Bosch DBW throttle bodies on to the Hypertune inlets, they will be a direct fit, just like our adaptors for the stock inlets. We can also supply a pedal that is a direct bolt in too, along with wiring looms to connect to the Syvecs as well! Basically a full kit. It'll all need pinning in to the Syvecs and configured though of course.
j_jza80
As well as the reasons listed, I'm going DBW to gain cruise control
Mike B
I run syvecs and oem vvti dbw - ryan did a good job mapping it, but the stock body is not without issues - it can be a p.i.t.a. sometimes.

Paul Whiffin
Awesome Paul how much would I be looking at for a kit? I haven't priced it up exactly yet, but somewhere around £530 ish not including the throttle body itself which can be bought on ebay for about £160 new approx.
