mugen_power
Hi guys, I'm trying to get my oil lines ordered and I was just wondering if anyone can help with an oil feed inlet flange for a HKS T04R, I've been reading a lot of conflicting info regarding it and whether it needs a restrictor, I emailed a HKS dealer and all they really told me was if it's between 45-60psi then I will need a restrictor, but no info on the flange or feed size. Does anyone know where I can get a flange to fit this turbo and also what size line I need and whether it needs a restrictor? There seems to be a lot of conflicting info when I googled, some say -3, some say -4, some say restrictor, some say no restrictor. It's an na-t whether that will make a difference to the oil pressure. Also I know the usual method for an oil feed on an na-t is the Lexus bolt, my car came set up taking an oil feed from the housing itself, right on the end theres 2 hex bolts, one of these has been used as a oil feed Is this a major issue or will it suffice? Or would I best scrapping that and going with the Lexus bolt? I also have a spare sandwich plate port if it's easier. Starting from scratch I would have gone with the trusted Lexus bolt method but if the current way is okay then I'll just leave it. Appreciate any help
Chris Wilson
Look down the oil feed hole of the turbo. is there already a circa 1mm or so hole in there, or is just a God damn big hole? if the latter you need a restrictor and Turbo Dynamics sell them as part of the feed flange adapter. I would drill and tap the oil filter housing bolt for the turbo oil feed myself. use Teflon lined, branded, quality hose and heat sleeve. Use a hard pipe for the turbo drain until well past manifold runners. Don't use excessive amounts of sealant and bung up oil feeds and drains! Have fun, let us know when you admit selling it and buying a TT was really the thing you should have done.... Happy New Year!
