CASHEYE
Ok, second time around. I tried to post this earlier but for whatever reason (iPad related) it didn't work. Right so all I want to know is are shifters gearbox specific and or can you get adapters to change the auto shifter from the supra. As I'm changing the interior I'd like to change the style of the shifter, not just the lever. In my head, the shifter is just a large selector switch so as long as you match up the wires from each selection/gear to the original plug/socket it should work. Or is it much more complicated? Al Massey
A few guys have converted the shifter to look like a manual so it is doable
j_jza80
Maybe one from a GS300 MK2 would fit? That has more of a j-gate design like my tiptronic iirc.
CASHEYE
I was thinking more along the lines of a Cheetah SCS Shifter. It might just be a case of picking up a second supra shifter and butchering it.

Or is it much more complicated? It's more complicated. The shifter does have switches to signal to the ECU and the dash, these you could re-wire. But more importantly the lever is physically connected to the spool valves in the gearbox which select Drive, Reverse, Park etc.

I'll just have to change the aesthetics of the original.
Swampy442
I have to input here, depending on the car (NA. VVTI etc) but on the non VVTI TT engine/box combo the style of shift lever is irrelevant as the switch is on the gearbox itself, so the shifter could be a banana in custard, as long as the input range in the box matched up, all good
