jamesmark
Purchased a new car couple of weeks back and although it is spotless inside and out, the previous owners must have had dogs. Although it is not too in your face (smokers smell is a lot worse) I would like it to be gone, tried febreeze but only masks it for a few days and does not get into the areas you can't spray. My mate suggested fogging and looking online there are a lot of mixed reviews. To be fair, the car will smell of dog again but I don't plan to get another dog till my new born is of the age not to try and detach it's tale lol, that's about 3 years away. Any advice? Ric
Full wet vac, steam the vents out then fog it. You can buy various bombs to try it yourself, set it off and set the AC to full recirc. Usually a propper fogger machine is better any decent valet should be able to do it

cered
Best thing to do is; Wet vac every inch of carpet you can get to Spray an enzyme odour eater (e.g. valet pro) onto bits you can't but it will be worth doing the seats and headlining too Use an A/C refresher bomb thing to clear the system Drive around for a while with the a/c on to circulate the air Best advised to do this in the sunshine so you can leave the car doors and windows wide open to air out fully. It'll probably smell like whatever for a few weeks after but eventually it'll go. Bought my Supra off a dog owner and the dog seemed to go on trips in the back. Didn't smell like dog just old musky car smell. So gave it a good hoover, cleaned the fabrics with APC and let it dry out and it just smelled pretty clear (trace of oldcarmusk).
