mark newman
As Ryan is no more in the UK , who is the best mapper now, and is capable of mapping up to 1500 bhp , does any one know , as I need a mapper urgent well about 5 weeks ,
drift_bear
Ryan still does remote mapping as far as I know, theirs also someone else from syvecs that's highly recommend after Ryan, can't remember his name though!
mark newman
yes he does remote , but I like it to be more hands on , also I have a 5'' exhaust from turbo all the way out , and its so loud its hard to hear Ryan on the phone as he is doing it ,
Chris Bailey
Romain @ Syvecs is your best option now Ryan has gone. Heard good things about his work! Ryan put him in charge so he must know his stuff.
tkddav3
I'll do it.... Then again
absz
Torque development International are very good and they also provide training courses for Syvecs mapping so know this ecu very well http://www.tdi-plc.com/contact-us/
a98pmalcolm
Romain at syvecs mate. Great guy and does great work
Chris Wilson
Dave Rowe of ex-Motec fame, now independent, Fraser MacKellar of Motec, or Sam Borgman of TDI are probably the UK's most experienced mappers. I have watched Rowe map multi million pound cars and their owners seemed calm and un-flustered.. He does not like Syvecs software though. What's the ECU? Chris Wilson
UAE I think, somewhere hot where there's lots of money about
nootysupra
I knew this day would come.
Chris Wilson
And what day is that?
Chris Wilson
This is Dave tweaking the Motec (hidden in the original Bosch ecu casing) of a "somewhat valuable" car. He's also fearless in a passenger seat, doing live tweaking, so long as you don't act the prat.
Ian C
The name on the side of that is a CV for Dave in itself
imi
UAE I think, somewhere hot where there's lots of money about Makes sense. Pleased for him.
Chris Wilson
Stories that he's grown a beard, has his maps' axes in Arabic and is reading the Koran are not something I could possibly comment on
imi
Does he also have an entourage of 72 virgins following him?
Jellybean
I think Titan only do a PNP Motec for the Supra , i wounder would Dave make a patch harness ; maybe it would not be cost effective for the average person http://www.titanmotorsports.com/timomopnpfor.html
Chris Wilson
He probably would, as would Fraser. In fact Motec UK used to sell the connector plugs and crimp connectors for the Suupra ECU I think. If I sourced the Toyota plugs I have the tooling to do them myself actually. But is there a demand? Over many years involved with Supras I have sold but two Motec ECU's to UK owners.
Jellybean
Great to know you can do it Chris, for me personally I think I would prefer to get the Motec just solely due to the availability of mappers, support , features and resale value Getting locked into a small eco system like the other manufactures is a risk and the availability of a local mapper is an issue; if I have to go the UK might as well do it right! Nodalmighty
Link a pretty massive now world wide. The new state of the art Link Thunder systems are becoming available in the UK. Nearly all the calibration engineers I know support Link systems these days.
