Steve W
How do the EBC Black/Green pads compare to, say, Toyota's ? ? [black = standard, Green a 'bit' better ? ?] DYA' reckon the EBC discs are ~similar to standard discs ? ? I'm happy to just keep buying Toyota std' stuff, but nice if there's another 'source' for when original not available... [just want at least as good as standard ! ?]

Alex
To paraphrase CW (who sells pads and discs) "EBC Discs are made of some odd toffy like substance." ie shite on a Supra. Best pads cost alot of money. TRD or OEM's are good. Some people like the Whiffin's Porties others like CW's Intermediates. CW will also supply OEM. CW = Chris Wilson search for his name to find contact details.
Need4Speed
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think J rears are the same (caliper) as Lexus GS300.

I think I made that mistake and bought some GS300 rear pads and they didn't fit. Can't be 100%sure on that....i know I got a set that didn't fit and I'm sure someone mentioned the GS300 when I ordered them....
Need4Speed
I cross ref'd the Porterfield part numbers on their web site and found GS300 rears. It may be, of course, that American spec. GS300s are different.
Guest Martin F
American Supra's have the same brakes as UK spec.
Branners
in america isnt the GS300 sold as something else and the 300 is actually the 200 (or am I just mad )
Steve W
YES.............
Steve W
Yeah, I know the Porterfield's etc are 'BETTER' pads, but, I don't have any stopping problems with the standard Jap'Spec' brakes ! ! ! I just want choices of 'STANDARD' pads (and poss' discs). [yeah, I KNOW I might change my mind after a Track-Day.... I MIGHT have even changed my mind IF I'd run at Woodbridge ? but, on the road, at fairly lunatic speeds, my 'shit' brakes are WELL powerful enough thanks:conf: ] [i certainly DON'T want to have to keep changing discs 'cos of over-zealous pads ripping 'em to pieces ! ! ! - I'd HAVE to go for a matched pad/disc set-up] FatS.
