clicking sound in engine

Hey friends!

my supra has been driving fine until the other night i was driving home, i noticed that when i was accelerating (especially at high rpm) the car was sort of chugging or fluttering. almost like a cylinder was misfiring or a timing issue.

Further along the drive i noticed that a hill i usually go up in 4th gear, i was struggling to get up in 3rd gear. after this i decided not to drive it incase there is a decent issue. upon inspection of the car i figured it was something electrical and have been inspecting the engine, taking the rocker cover off and everything looks right, however all i have noticed is a loud clicking noise from the far end of the engine bay. i figure this could be a spark plug maybe?

anyone have any ideas what this could be and if i can diy fix it, or if i'm better off just sending it into the mechanic.

Thanks for the help guys :)

NA or turbo?

Its a 93 NA Nic

Check all the HT leads are on nice and tight, i'd also check all the plugs are at the correct torque for starters in case one has

come loose

To narrow down the problem you can use plastic pliers and pull a HT lead off the dizzy one at a time and see how

it affects how the engine runs, if you pull one off and it makes no difference then you've narrowed down your search

to the problem being on that cylinder
