Dnk
Doing a bit of research into these dual clutch gearboxes in BMW's I'm just wondering how reliable they are once they have a few miles on them ? Looking at 2009 onwards and either the Z4 35i / 35is Roadster or an M3 4.0 v8 convertible. From what I can see it looks like if there's a problem with the box its replacement only via BMW !! plus1
The wife has the DCT in her 35is Z4, great gear box and good for 700nm of torque. So far have heard of no problems with the boxes on the forum( Z4 ), but as with all these boxes, if they go wrong..........££££££££ Ian
Paul Whiffin
There's loads of used gearboxes available if anything did happen, I've got an M3 DCT as my daily and love it!
Axle
MY daily F10 M5 is tuned to over 700 BHP and I abuse the hell out of it. Gearbox has been immense.
