Chris Wilson
Exit polls this evening show she's likely to win the first round, but can she go the whole course?
Graham1984
I'm going to say no, mainly as I have no idea what you're talking about.

j_jza80
Ideally not. But then again, like all of the other far right groups across Europe who are more popular than ever, they are a symptom of a larger problem. The government's of Europe forced ever further EU integration, and mass immigration on the populaces. Both have failed, and while many have come to Western Europe and integrated perfectly, many have chosen not to, and created all sorts of issues (low skill workers undercutting wages, sub communities where some don't even speak English, women treated as vermin, first cousin marriage is commonplace, FGM, crime gangs, human trafficking/prostitution etc etc) Did the politicians think that they could just keep doing this, with no repercussions? Even in the 32 years I've been alive, the change has been staggering. And as well as my concern for France, if they get into power and start introducing culture/race/faith based policies, where are the non integrated people going to go? Take one guess
Chris Wilson
There's a way to go yet, but this strong support for her and her niece, (at least I think it's her niece in the running in the Cote D'Azur ??), is indicative of a very restless population. I would like to see how she got on, myself. Oh, and by the way, this FGM stuff. Is it any more or less morally defensible than male circumcision? j_jza80
Male circumcision is fairly commonplace for medical reasons. FGM is a cultural practice, that is purely of cultural and aesthetic 'value', is brought about by cultural pressure and often done against the wishes of the victim. The victims are often in their early teens.
Chris Wilson
Unless the Jewish race have a genetic issue that is known to hit all orthodox Jewish males, that's not the reason, it's religious and cultural, same as the blacks use FGM. In the case of orthodox Jews the "victims" are younger at 8 days. Their wishes are at best uncertain....
j_jza80
Jews aren't a race And theres loads of information online about the differences without me listing it all on here. One is legal, the other is not, and for good reason.
Chris Wilson
Jews aren't a race A grey area: http://www.jpost.com/Enviro-Tech/Jews-A-religious-group-people-or-race And theres loads of information online about the differences without me listing it all on here. One is legal, the other is not, and for good reason. I did say morally, not legally Anyway, Marine has won the first round, to get back on topic. Sorry to have taken a detour, I'll cut it out
j_jza80
A grey area Anyway, Marine has won the first round, to get back on topic. Sorry to have taken a detour, I'll cut it out IMO it's a very important distinction to make. I could become a Jew / Christian / Muslim if I so wished, like anyone. Religion is simply an ideology, which people *should* have the freedom to choose. Like any ideology, it must be open to scrutiny. If people start acknowledging religion as race, it means they can argue that any scrutiny or criticism is racism. Racism is an irrational fear, religion like many ideology has aspects that we should openly criticise.
