a98pmalcolm
Hey guys. I just relocated my windscreen wash tank to the boot using this kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281845287554?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Its all plumbed up ready to roll with the wiring to were the original plug is located. But does anyone know how to wire them? There is 3 wires on the original, 2 wires on the new kit. When we used a amp meter to check the voltage of which wire does what it seems like there is a constant 12v going to it. Does the OEM pump have a built in relay? Thanks Paul
wile e coyote
I think you find the pump spins in a different rotation depending if it's asked to spray the front or rear
Clausz
I just wired the pump by making the wires longer from the engine compartment. There are 3 wires, because one is ground, one is 12v for front windscreen and the last is for 12v for rear windscreen. The aftermarket wash tank you have linked to, does not have a pump for both front and rear.
Chris Wilson
You only need one wire to the back, take the ground wire direct to some cleaned off sheet metal near the new tank. I would put a one way anti drain back valve in the pipe to the jets, up near the jets themselves.
a98pmalcolm
odd thing is 2 if the wires are a contanstant 12v suply. Im not having a rear one..
Chris Wilson
The system may ground one wire to turn the pump on. In which case you DO need to run two wires to the back, or find a suitable 12V ignition switched feed already at the back of the car.
