The wife wants a new TV, I have less than zero interest, and rarely watch it these days. Want to spend as little as possible ;) I know nothing about modern TV's my den TV is still cathode ray tube and is staying that way ;)

Its all about the Samsungs Chris.

But in response to your question it looks good enough value if basic freeview television is your only use IE: you have no fancy plug in bits

*If you have SKY please be sure to make sure they have a remote code for the specific model*

Nip into Ikea and see if you could borrow one of the hollow TV casings for the weekend that they use for their displays :)

It looks like it does the basics and if that's all you need it for I'd say you're golden.

But as J says, if you can hold off 'til Friday, walk into Tesco and grab something a little better for the same price

From what I have seen of Black Friday sales its like a Zoo with all the cages open to save £25 on a techwood 21inch tv I would rather pay the £25 and not get stabbed.

Chris would need his Pub Gang as armed support if he wanted a TV from a supermarket on Black Friday haha.

Saying that do they do the Black friday deals for supermarkets online?

blaupunkt aren't blaupunkt anymore... The brand was bought by a generic chinese TV company. You can prolly get the same unbranded ones off ebay for £100-£150.

LG are fantastic value for money, Samsung are slightly better than LG but cost a tiny bit more. Sony are the daddies (IMO)

Or Panasonic if you don't want to buy a television for many years

She's bought it now, patience is not a virtue she has! No idea about the refresh rate, if she gets a headache from it she'll know how I feel daily! Luckily I will probably only see it, being a bit deaf these days, so I won't have to endure Come Dancing, or the interminable and cheap to make cookery programmes aurally as well as visually. I'll let you know if lets the magic smoke out :) Thanks.

It's `er indoors problem now :) Yeah, right. Bignums TV is still going strong, time will tell. :)

The TV "er indoors" has bought doesn't have any scart lead connections. I assume your other equipment is on HDMI cables or she is going to have fun and games. We are just wiring up our new house and we have had to wire 2 TV's (that we haven't bought yet), 2 x HDMI, Ethernet connections, Co-axial cable, power, all through the walls and 20m runs in some cases.

These new 4K TV's and wall mounting them and future proofing, is not fun.

Like you said, it's her problem until you feel horny...!!
