neilp9876
I quite fancy one of these as the family car so would be interested to know what you thought? They are coming down in price pretty quickly to.
GazDoran
Which engine/spec? I love the XF - the XF-S with the 3.0 V6 diesel engine is an absolute corker! I really fancied one as a family car, but needed an estate for the dogs. Unfortunately the Sportbrake was a little outside of my price range as still very new at the time. Havard
One of my business partners has just got the Sport Brake, 2.2D. Car seems lovely and I bet it is a joy to drive. Thing is, it's on 17" wheels and they look a bit daft. This makes it a bit of an old man's car in my book. In contrast. I am going for a Mercedes C Class Estate 220 AMG line with 19" wheels. Would like to hear your thoughts on the Jag though. H.
liam1
my mate has one and loves it, so it was nice to have one to try it out for myself, initial thoughts were this is nice i loved how the air vents were hidden then turned round when activated, touch screen dash was nice and very easy to navigate, first time i've used paddle shift which i thought was very good, im not a expert on cars by any means but i will try my best thought it handled well very responsive took it on a few twisties were it felt planted, but bare in mind my daily is a range rover which feels like a ship on the sea. on the motorway i felt it had plenty of power for me and overtaking was very good. Saturday morning we had snow and the heaters were brilliant windscreen cleared very quickly. on handing it back i thought you would soon get bored of the gadgets and i felt i would be left with a old mans car saying that i would have one but not over my rr, ps the neighbours and my young sons's school friends loved it. hope this helps. j_jza80
My dad has a facelift XF Sportbrake 2.7 diesel in black, with black tints and black wheels. It looks amazing, and is a fantastic car. A consummate mile muncher too, does 50mpg at 70mph with the cruise control on.
vertex
Friend has a xf s. 280ish bhp from the 3.0 twin turbo diesel. Lovely car, very quick off the mark (sub 5 seconds) Has spent more time in the dealers than on the road. Dpf issues. They've replaced very part under the sun (including turbos), I'm hoping it will work long enough for me to give it a ass kicking in the aristo. Looks amazing in s guise with 20" r alloys. I had my E220 AMG line E Class with the 19" wheels delivered last month and it is a great car, if you can, spec it with the 360 degree camera and the panoramic roof, both are really nice options to have. I have always been a BMW person but the ride is a lot nicer on the Merc, however, the steering feels so vague compared to BMWs.

peter richards
1st please ad come on mate , ive detailed quite a few , ok the top spec ones arnt to bad but the bog standard are drab 6. the air vents turning pita only more to fail
j_jza80
The airvents are a bit silly, the touchscreen is cumbersome, and the paddleshifters are plastic and horrible. But the gear selector is lovely, the steering wheel is spot on, the seats are both comfortable and supportive, and while the controls for the climate control aren't the best, the system works very well. Even though some of the cabin materials aren't up to the same standard as some of the best Audi / Mercedes stuff, it still feels more special because it doesn't feel mass produced. This is what my dad's looks like, doubt there's anything in its class that can look as sinister
Swampy442
I really like the idea of an XF-R, understated, over 500hp, V8 sounds.
