RedM
When people don't turn up to look at the car you are selling. Arranged with A. Bloke to come and look at the car at 1pm. Got up super early to do all the stuff I needed to, feeling under the weather as well and now he's 30 minutes late. No phone call, nothing. Harumph. magicmatty
Why does everyone do that though, apart from you and me......and the next 8 dozen people that post on here!!! Quick phone call out of courtesy would be all it takes to help a bit..... Had a "0" feedback guy bidding on an item of mine...I emailed him asking for contact details, which he sent me...Then emailed back asking me to remove his bids 'cause he couldnt afford it anyway' ... Ewen
if he does turn up, and he wants the car, tell him that 'someone else has just been round and offered your asking price (or as close to it as you think fit) but as you are honest, you told that guy that you were waiting for "original bloke" out of decency'...if he matches or betters the "imaginary bloke" the cars his
RedM
Already thought about that. I might just hit him with a brick for wasting my time though.

Ewen
the amount of times Ive wanted to do that.... Putting 'no time wasters please' in an advert is as much use as a sign saying 'dont throw stones at this sign'.....it is always gonna happen
Chipmunk
Reminds me of a few years ago when I sold my Celica - arranged with one guy for him to view it at 7pm , and he turned up at 11pm !! No phonecall as to why the delay , no apology when he turned up also. Open the front door at 11pm and there he is with his 3 brothers! He still bought it , then cancelled his cheque the following morning claiming the engine blew up on the way home. Sued the bastard over the next 6 months but did get all my money eventually. Another candidate for being lumped with a brick in hindsight.
RedM
I'd have not tlet him take the car had he given me a cheque. Wait for it to clear then come and collect. Anyhoo, this chaps now 90 minutes late. Given up waiting.

Quite true - last time I ever accepted a cheque from a stranger because it was easier for them
dangerous brain
A mate of mine used to do this as a tactic to push the price down. He'd phone up and make a few appointments as different people. Not turn up for half of them and get a mate to turn up totally slag the car off saying it was knoackered then show up later and make a ridiculous offer. He said most would be so demralised that they dropped their price considerably.
RedM
I think your mate has just rung me! Some numpty trying to convince me that he'd be doing me a favour by taking it off my hands for peanuts and because he was a kind soul he'd let me keep the cd player and tax. Nice try.
