Would I run into problems if the tank was designed to be a sealed unit? I'm looking at some aluminium tanks on ebay and they are designed to be radiator overflow tanks with a 1.3 bar cap. Tricky-Ricky Posted November 18, 2015 Share Posted November 18, 2015 Yes as the water/meth is pumped from the tank it needs to be replaced by air, or you get a vacuum and the flow will gradually reduce and screw up the the measured amount injected. Chris Wilson Posted November 19, 2015 Share Posted November 19, 2015 Yes, it needs to breathe in air to replace the lost fluid volume. I use the stock windscreen washer vessel, a 50 / 50 methanol and water mix is also an effective screenwash. Most commercial screenwash additives are methanol based.
