alxns7
So this weekend I changed the brake lines for braided ones. No problem until I got to the rear right hard brake line fitting which was a bit hard to unscrew. When trying to screw it back on the new brake hose, I could not get the threads to touch each other. I tried to put the old one back on but the same thing happened. It looks like the screw dome (whatever it's called) is too large. Has anyone had this before? And of course the brake fluid completely drained out. Very frustrating!
np89
Sounds like whoever had it off last cross threaded it and now the threads are bucked and wont screw back in
P_Bazz
Yes happens very often, they are fastened so tight from the factory that the small outer parts of the fitting end deform. You need to file down the outer end of the fitting a bit and then it should fit fine again. Had the same issue when fitting my Do Luck lines. No leaks whatsoever and the thread was fine. alxns7
Thanks Bazz! This was exactly the problem, it did look deformed. All good now.
