supra_24
Hi guys, I am in the process of looking at some led tail lights for the supra, but just wondered whether you guys could advise that these are legal for road use or not? Just wanted to confirm with you guys first before considering. Any help on this would be appreciated. Cheers
GazDoran
LED tail lights are perfectly legal (Companies like Audi now use them as standard) but as with any lights, LED or otherwise they can be illegal if necessary requirements aren't met. supra_24
These are the rear lights I'm looking to at. Top image with black backing lights. I just wanted to double make sure that these were fine for road use. The housing is different to oem and I'm not sire they have reflectors. Anyone else advise on this? CASHEYE
I doubt you'd get pulled for no reflectors. But for mot purposes, just slap some of the self adhesive ones on the bumper. I'm making some at the moment (an extremely slow process) which will be LED based and have reflectors built into the design. Fun times. GazDoran
As above, those lights are fine, but you technically need reflectors and a rear fog to make it MOT worthy, but i doubt you'd get pulled over for either.
Kendo11
As above, I'm making some but not using reflectors or a rear fog. But these are needed for an mot so I'll either get a local friendly garage to mot it or get a cheap set of pre face-lift for spare.
mellonman
You do know reflectors are there for a reason so your car can been seen at night from a distance by on coming vehicles, if I was doing some I would cut a ring the size of the leds inred reflective tape and put it in 1 or maybe all, Better still would be between the leds, one of the blue water boys has a triagle f1 tpye fog light in the bottom middle of bumper which looks good and could possibly fit a reflector in that

So in regards to reflectors, If I got a set of adhesive reflectors and had them on the outside of the tail light casing and rear bumper, would that be acceptable?
